The other reply was also me actually, but I'm really happy Kotegiri got more attention last year through them adding more of his bros. I agree that he lacked cohesiveness for a good while in game, but finally putting him in Toumyu like he deserved and was made for on top of having his bros join him both there and in game has created quite a lovable and wholesome family.
It is a bit tiring at times to always have to create your own narrative for swords, but I think it's as much a strength of the series as a weakness; on one hand, it helps make every Saniwa's citadel and experiece different and unique. On the other hand, it makes a little sad at how little (if much) I can find of others also wanting the Gou's to finally have an Idol Off with Awataguchi88 like Kotegiri wanted, or at least him and Midare gushing about idol things together.
