He had an extremely traumatic life that is dark as fuck but never fully explained, but his brother is a psychopath that is overly affectionate towards him, and also a ghost, and he supposedly murdered him with a kitchen knife. It's fucked up because it's implied his brother's abuse was sexual, you can even see it in the OP of the anime, but there are hints that his brother doesn't really exist too. It's in the same magazine as black butler though and in that it's canon that a shota gets gangraped and murdered by a bunch of old men, so compared to that, his brother doing him is tepid at most. If you try to find reason or a happy story in the manga, you won't, it'll just mess you up in the head.
