actually, /cm/ in general is very slow right now. if you look at a graph of daily activity on 4stats, you can see it was much, much more active in the summer and fall, and for the last couple of months has been slowly dying.
but looking at the long-term trend, this is something that usually seems to happen to the board in winter/spring; activity dies down and then begins to increase again towards the middle of the year.
