However if you actually want to "make it" on YouTube or any social media type platform for that matter, the key is to just get your name seen by as many people as possible but in a non-spammy or advertising way.
Specifically, you just comment on a bunch of shit. This works on basically all platforms. Get top comment with a joke and people will click on your profile if you have a mildly intriguing image (anime girls are usually the best for input, but it needs to fit the content type of course).
We've all seen those channels with like 1K subs and no videos who only comment. Basically just do that but with content.
Of course if your content isn't good it will never take off. But this gives it the highest chance of taking off.
