Chapter 2 came out a couple months ago and made it canon that Richie (the one with the glasses) is in love with Eddie (the brunette). In the book, Eddie is the one who's heavily implied to be gay (though Richie frequently calls Eddie "cute" and loves teasing him) but the movies flipped it around.
