IMO the movie wouldn't really need a het romance to de-gay things anyway, as outside of the CPR scene the movie felt pretty sexless on the whole and everyone, even the main guy and girl, had just another kind of bro relationship. The movie ends with [spoiler:lit]the two fistbumping each other which seems like a pretty strongly "just guy pals" action[/spoiler:lit]. But that's just me.
I do concede the lyrics to the music make Galo sound pretty gay for Lio, although there's a lot of other ones that go nowhere or led me to have very different expectations of what the plot was going to be like.
