>It would have been brave (and smarter, too) admitting that there was deeper theme to the movieBut what if it wasn't? What if they guys are telling the truth in that the movie is just what, a big love letter to everything they have worked on so far and the rest is just fan projection that just isn't canon.
What? Should they lie to appease a demographic? So they look "smarter"? So pretentious pricks who go "anime is smarter/deeper than western media" feel better about themselves for once? (while devaluating and bashing anime that aren't up to their standards ignoring the effort put behind the process).
That's just incredibly cynical and also the worse kind of pandering there is.
Remember there's an anime out there in which the dick of one of the characters is a literal key to hell, a pair of stripper angels fight a literal pile of shit in the first episode and which was created with the purpose to emulate western media and makes absolute 0 effort to make a statement or commentary on anything.
And guess what, it was made by the same people who made Promare possible and to this day is talked about as the greatest series ever animated.
Give me break, Anon, take this shitty ass take to twitter, I'm not going to validate you on 4chan of all places, especially on an imagedump board.
