For me I'd say Makoto is ok, relatively cute and has a fun bumbling side to him without much that particularly stands out. Nothing to make him immesnly stand out , and I'd say he lands firmly in the straight camp. Nothing really in dr1 to say otherwise
Hajime : probably my favourite. His whole identity / talent crisis can strike a good tone with the typically young danganronpa fanbase with the dr2s whole "making your future thing". Somehow stats say he's got a 91cm chest which is nice plus I'd say he's definitely the twunkiest / most masculine of the protags. Orientation wise I'd probably go with bi, Due to the dialogue he can have with Nekomaru and how he talked about feeling quite a bond with Nagito. In general they give off quite strong evangalionish shinji X Kowaru vibes.
Shuichi (not including kaede cause girl obv) : quite a good once aswell. His arch of going from shy and quite emoish to believing in himself made him really likable imo, plus he's definitely one of the cutest guys in game imo. Very twinky face and whatnot . Sexuality, I'm almost sure bi. Certainly seemed quite close to kaede whilst alot of the dialogue in the love hotel scenes implied that he had some sorta male attraction whether it be Kaito's one or Him wishing Ouma didn't run off. (Since while the love hotel scenes literally don't happen they still delve into 2 characters phsyce)
As a sidenote though I found it quite cute how only in Kaede's and Ouma's love time events is Shuichi just Shuichi. No extra persona, talent or anything like that. =) I guess it just shows they both had a thing for emo detective just the way he was
