The idea that Griffith never cared about anyone is just straight up false, it's very clearly demonstrated that he care deeply about everyone who fights for his cause. Griffith sold his body not for resources, but to relieve some of the crippling guilt he feels from having so many people, some just children, die just to support his dream. His dignity was a small price to pay for possibly thousands of lives, in his eyes. I dont know about you, but that sounds like a good commander to me.
As for Guts, him having sex with Charlotte was a clear, easily identifiable piece of proof that Griffith had legitimate feelings for Guts, at least of kinship if not romantic. Why would you ruin your path to your dream if it really was all just a show? Also, Femto raped Casca, not Griffith. Griffith died almost a year prior to that.
