Osafune don't get much elaboration in official media (having more than one in 2.5D counts for something) but their fans include as many as possible on the Osafune connection alone. You're bound to be familiar with their faces, maybe not their character. That's true for plenty of swords.

The Osafunes just have this kinda otome-ish appeal that I can't get into. They're all fabulous, stylish and seemingly perfect guys who look straight out of a host club and that bores me to death. I like it when a character growns on me to the point that what initially seemed personality flaws now become interesting quirks. I hope they'll get more exposure in sword media in the future because I'm looking forward to be able to enjoy them.

My four year saniwanniversary just passed, I'm both amazed that it's already been four years, and surprised that it hasn't been longer. Simultaneously feels like I just started playing, yet like it's always been something I've been doing.

Unfortunately, I barely had the time and motivation to play the last event. I didn't even make it to floor 50, I feel a little sad that I missed getting an event background for the first time. I hate those fucking exclamation points and I need them all.

I have pretty much every type of character good possible, save for apparel. I'm currently trying to figure out a nice way to display coasters. Also recently picked up the physical volumes of the Katsugeki manga. I like it a lot more than the anime and would consider translating it if I weren't so lazy and mediocre at Japanese.

Got them at a Kinokuniya. I'd like to pick up more sword manga in general, but they're not a high priority so I haven't bothered to get them yet until now, felt lucky being able to snag Katsugeki while it was there. The latest chapters are available online when they come out, but physical manga really is the best after all.

The art is definitely beautiful, I'm surprised at how well the artist can keep the characters on model to the game art. Unfortunately the language barrier is hard to get over when it comes to discussing sword material here, but at least we have the anthologies that have been translated. I really love those.

Coade makes a 100mm badge cover, but only in a stand-type rather than a hang-type, and my coasters are really flat so I don't know how well they'd actually fit.
Another display idea I had was sandwiching my coasters in an acrylic press frame because they're pretty thin. I'll keep pondering it.

I think the nendos are great. They're the only nendos I collect anymore because I've been so pleased with their sculpts and I have a happy full citadel shelf of them. If OR ever decides to make my favorite sword, he'll be surrounded by a big family.

As far as I know, nope, no one is translating it. More swords do appear and actually have lines in the scenes where they're in the citadel (for example, Kasen and a handful of the Awataguchi), but overall the story is an adaptation of the anime so there aren't any major scenes with them.

But you know, Toumyu is a long production lasting for several months (Mihotose is from January to March) and at first the actors were rookies so they could afford declining other jobs for Toumyu but not anymore. They're getting jobs in more prestigious musicals and they might want to prioritize them over 2.5D stuff.

I lost motivation between events because I haven't beaten all maps and it's just a recipe for pain and breakage pushing forward, but events have numbers and experience so I can level up and feel achievement. If you want the bgms then you don't really lose anything by playing except for koban. A lot of people shit on this event but in my opinion, it's not that bad, just frustrating when you get unlucky. You definitely won't be able to get Buzen this time but he will come back eventually.

I love my Tarou so much I can't bring myself to kiwame him and make him vulnerable again. Kiwame levelling makes me despair for them when that's all I'm grinding for. Same, I wouldn't even know where to start following English info for swords. I have an empty twitter following the game account for maintenance news, and what I think is a merch news account, but they still miss things, and it's completely dependant on when I remember to open the site to check so I end up only looking when /sword/ said something first. Anyway, swords is big enough to be overwhelming if you wander too far so I like having somewhere central to return to and cut down what I have to check.

You can get a kiwame set and omamori from it, but it might take some serious grinding to get prizes on the easiest map. Swords can't break in this event so aside from wasting passes there's nothing to lose from trying a harder map to test your might, or pressing to the end no matter how bad your unit's looking. Everyone just sits out on a bench when they're knocked down.

I'm not falling off the wagon per se, more like slipped and fell and now I'm stuck on the floor of it so the ride isn't fun. Yeah. Even if I met someone who was enthusiastic I wouldn't be able to bring up which swords I actually like, I'd prob just awkwardly say theirs is nice and nothing deep. I'd sound like a casual even though I was so disappointed when I realised the person who got me onto swords didn't play, didn't watch 2.5d, couldn't name most swords (owns more expensive merch than I can afford, of course).

I go to 3-4 cons a year and only ever made one actual friend from bonding over Touken Ranbu. I have a pretty big group of friends in the con scene but I can never get anyone into it because of the hurdle of language and history knowledge. When I see tkrb cosplayers I always ask for their picture but I've never really been able to strike up a convo with them, the one friend I made talked to me because of my itabag.

One of the best interactions so far
>see Tsuru cosplayer
>ask for pic and tell them I was /surprised/ to see them
>he smiles really wide and goes "ayyy"
One of the only dudes I've seen to cosplay it too, it was nice.

And one of the worst interactions

I used to go to cons back when I was in high school and college but over the years, and especially as my friends have grown up and stopped going to them and the local cosplay scene became even more embroiled in stupid drama, I don't feel the need to actively go and attend them anymore. I still go on occasion but only to meet up with friends and talk about what's been going on in our lives. On the topic of swords, it's really obscure here and I've only ever seen three guys cosplay it.

Though, they have a point when they say uploaders have to keep a low profile. I remember a japanese film distributor decided to stop showing some movie overseas because of piracy. A music label also stopped selling CDs overseas. 2.5D producers seem a bit interested in the west and I'd hate to have all chance of seeing these musicals gone because of that.

I don't think we'll have any problems with that unless the official eng dvd gets shared everywhere, which seems pretty unlikely. I really doubt most of them do it to keep a low profile too.
