>>3492566>Still can't believe we didn't get some scenes of them together. For real? A fallen angel, in love with the human that turned into a demon? That's so fucking romantic.
So much potential angst fodder, wasted. What kind of cruel ways would Deanmon have taunted him? A lot of people like to take the piss on Cas, but it probably would have hit different coming from Dean's mouth. As a Knight of Hell he certainly would have been stronger than stolen-grace Cas. Would he have tried to kill him and subconsciously held back? Would he have toyed with him and rationalized letting him live as a roundabout kind of cruelness? Or would he have legitimately made an attempt at Cas' life, convincing the angel that there was no hope in saving him? I guess that's for the fanfics to know. Actually, if you know a good one like that, give me the link please.
Maybe it's a little tinfoil hat-y, but I think there was a deliberate effort around that time to reverse course on Dean/Cas, full throttle. They were so afraid of accidentally doing a homo that they just doubled down on Sam and Dean's unhealthy codependency (like, I appreciate how much the brothers love and care for each other, but the writers have to let them utilize their whole support network sometimes. Maybe leave a few alive now and then). Meanwhile, they kept Cas out of the way by sticking him on babysitting duty for his zero-chemistry pseudo-love interest/sibling until plummeting ratings forced them to switch gear. I really didn't like Hannah.
