I'd often play with friends and family in the room, and we kinda start memeing on him for being such a wimp and the whole pickle thing. Eventually he started getting very blessed level ups and we'd go wild whenever that happened. As I start reading more of his dialogue and supports and seeing he had such a complex over being weak and never feeling like he was good enough to serve you, it made turning him into a badass feel more satisfying.
When I got the ring he was the only one with enough friendship points to take it right away, which makes sense since I never took him out of the party since the beginning. I tried giving it to him on a whim and was surprised it worked because I assumed it was like the last few games where only the token gay teammates could accept rings from male protag.
And then I found out they censored his love confession, I was disappointed, but not really surprised.
