>>3754237I don't know man. It's not just miscasting. I'm just not excited in the slightest about the adaptation. And actually I'm really sure they will fail to capture the original essence of Chainsaw man at all, especially after seeing those insipid souless trailers. Big names and sakuga fest won't change the fact that the direction will probably be a whole mediocrity. What I dislike the most though, is MAPPA's annoying advertising. They're touting the anime as some sort of revolution to the industry or something, and while I can understand that Chainsaw Man is "different" from traditional nekketsu, it's getting pathetic at this point. It's already bad as one of the richest companies in the world (Sony) is extremely involved with anime (rigged seiyus, ops, eds, bgm) and the fact that there's so much merchandise months before the release of it just makes me realize that this it's not a passion project but a passion project for money. They only want to get profit anon, the MAPPA team aren't real fans, just... literal trendchasers. And that is what makes sad the most.
Anyway, maybe I'm being too pessimistic, but that's my honest opinion. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. I want to see my boy.
