I think that if you can read JP on some okay'ish level you might be capable enough to translate it, since the syntaxes aren't complex and there is relatively few text to begin with, compared with usual manga. You might try to translate one for yourself and see how it goes. If you think it's good you might apply. Remember that TL groups are groups, rarely one-man projects. So you shouldn't be afraid of starting some longtime project here. You can stop whenever you want. People would already be happy if someone just translated the next 12 chapters and nothing else.
Also remember that OR chapters only have 14 pages, they are shorter than usual weekly chapters.
