It's good. I was following this project since was announced because Obari and Smith's VA
like you said the first episode the content was done by transformes/super robot but after episode 2 and because the free streaming on niconico people started to get more interested. Now the fanbase is well mixed, it's funny to find fujo who are into Kitaro's dads or Golden Kamuy makes fanworks and talk about it
and IDK why i find funny that this artist >>3862519 who used to make gatsu/griffith jumped in because isami looks like gatsu

Kek I noticed that too. You can see the influence of Guts in their Isamis.

Some funny thing is that a lot of artists that are into one certain fandom will eventually collectively get into another certain fandom like a hivemind and it's usually the same shit I also happen to like. A lot of the Jojo artists I once followed eventually ended up in Transformer robot hell or Golden Kamuy fandom, often even both. And now both of them tend to get into Bravern.
I guess the connection here is "mentally ill gay beefy men and action" but it's funny how that happens and I sometimes find a new artist for Bravern for example, only to realise that I am already following them for ages for some other series they made fanart of.

lately male ryona is getting more traction and fujoshi are liking it a lot, which is a good reason to like the show.
also there is the appeal of both lead being dragged into stuff bigger than than them and the writing doesn't make them pitiful in a cheap way

Yeah it attracts a bunch of fandoms that are usually ignored. Robo fuckers for example get basically nothing, but now it's even a gay robot who is obsessed with the MC (or (you), if you relate) which is pretty unique. At best you get a robo waifu pandering and even that is rare and surely for mecha, male one is a new one I think. Even Transformers with its many canon gay and gay pandering robots had no male robot/male human pandering anywhere IIRC. Actual pandering I mean, not common friendships.
Bravern is kinda creepy, but it's not a robo fucker would care. They wouldn't even end up in a situations where they disagree with Bravern to begin with, they think like Smith. Obari must be fully aware of what he#s doing here.
