>friends tutoring each other
I don't know how I forgot about him, but this pic reminded me that during the summer between 3rd and 4th grade, my parents hired a "private tutor" (their friend's son, a high schooler, quiet, kinda fat) to catch me up on my severely lacking math skills. At the time, I was such an idiot that it took me 15 minutes to do one multiplication worksheet. They'd drop me off at his house 3 days a week and we'd go to his room so he could tutor me. He was a really good tutor, to the point that I caught up on what my parents wanted me to learn in 3 months over 2 weeks. I remember he struck a deal with me so I would still get "tutored" so he could get paid weekly, while I stayed with him in his room for a couple of hours and played on his PC, Xbox, or whatever. I even asked him to buy Pokemon Pearl so we could play together. Genuinely a good friend, I wonder how he's doing. I also curse the fact that I wasn't "older", because he definitely sat me on his lap during the actual tutoring sessions.
