Gemfibrozil is in the fibric acid derivatives drug class, which inhibits the production of very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDLs) and enhances VLDL clearance by stimulating lipoprotein lipase activity. This primarily results in reducing triglycerides and raising HDL-C. One of the earlier trials, the Helsinki Heart Study, assessed the impact of gemfibrozil in middle-aged men with dyslipidemia (non-HDL ? 200 mg/dL). In this placebo-controlled randomized control trial 600 mg of gemfibrozil two times daily for 5 years resulted in an increase of HDL-C by more than 10% and a reduction in total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, non-HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides by 8%, 8%, 12%, and 35%, respectively. The primary end points of coronary heart disease—fatal and nonfatal myocardial infarction and cardiac death—incidence was reduced by 34%.

When will you take the gempill, /sci/?

When scientists want to work on cutting edge problems they must first study all the knowledge achieved before. Kids need to study calculus even though calculus already exists. Then another and another topic.
Given enough time the amount of study required to master a field will exceed a lifespan, and then future research is impossible.
How can this problem be structurally tackled? Hyperspecialization is not a good solution since it also involves learning many topics just to reach the specialty.

Up to high school level 90% of everything is either wasted time or fluff. The typical classroom hour consists of about 10% learning, skills practice, and useful knowledge acquisition.
By cutting out the fluff and inefficiency many students could reach educational standards 10 years ahead of their time. This would however entail streaming, keeping the retards and the damaged goods in low stream classes while talented students move onto advanced stream classes. Since this would acknowledge that people are not equal it would be labelled racist and discriminatory and would not be allowed by the powerful political forces which insist that progress be kept at the lowest denominator. Therefore we will never escape the gravity well. Which is probably a good thing since unleashing the locusts upon the Universe would be detrimental to interstellar life.
This is certainly applicable to the West, however Asian cultures, particularly the Chinese, being more pragmatic and resistant to correct think brain disease, may succeed in locusting the stars.

e=mc^2 is the biggest poison in science community
einstein just twisted good old kinetic energy equation using his askhenazi jew schizo brain to ruin physics forever

"c" is not constant but it's the velocity of moving object, thus photon energy IS the velocity of photon

once you assume photon energy IS velocity everything falls in place

v = ~3 million m/s with large deviations based on photon energy
m = mass of photon

thus
e=mv^2
is just kinetic energy equation from 100 years before einstein was even born, there is no magic matter/energy transformation

Yeah. Want to know how a beanwr majority society will look like? Look at mexico or Guatemala or venezuela or anywhere in south America. It's a idiocracy. Nothing works and they believe the governemnt should give them free shit bc why not? And liberals are doing everything they can to bring them here by the millions. This country is seriously fucked.

Didn't the SAT stop being an IQ test back in the 1980s

Anybody can score high on it through studying now. All this shows is a lack of conscientiousness. The math scores are roughly the same which reading went down. Perhaps the reading material has degraded

I don't understand why the people boring between 1987 and 1990 had the highest scores, since they would om average be the students taking the SAT in 2005, and 2005 has the highest average scores, what was the educational climate back then? Was tv more educational, was there less personal phone use?

yes the modern SAT is now a measure of attention span

Trying to decide on a major. Engineering/Stats or Premed. I know I have to choose one or the other as Engineering and Stats are notoriously tricky, and it would be a stretch to have the high GPA required for Med School. So I haven't looked at other majors. And if I don't get through pre-med, I don't want to be stuck—such a tough decision.

EDIT: I know premed is not a major. I just meant that everyone I have spoken to says if you want to apply to med school, pick an easier major than Engineering or Stats. So people who think they will use to medical school, what is your major? What will you do if you don't get into Medical School? And people who chose an easier major with the plan of going to Medical School and didn't apply/get accepted are disappointed that you changed their major for Medical School.

Why not comp sci and biology? That way if the whole med school thing doesn’t pan out you will still have decent job prospects.

Hi,

What advice would you give a student going int computer science? If you could go back and change the way you learned CS, what would you change?

Thanks.

The dude talking about FAANG represents a low percentage of SWEs. Not all computer science graduates are SWEs. There is more to Computer Science than programming jobs. Try to enjoy your classes and make friends with your professors and colleagues. These people will determine how far you go outside of Computer Science. Networking is very important. Be nice to everyone and never talk down to classmates who don’t understand the current topics. People will pass the class and be in your next class, it is important to treat others kindly. Outside of networking, really enjoying the branch of computer science is important. I recommend reading about the history, famous computer scientists, topics that interest you in technology, and joining a club related to engineering or science at your school. These things can help keep you motivated when things get challenging, or are perhaps boring. Make sure you study well and retain the knowledge to discuss general info and some specifics about most topics you learn. This will ensure you can quickly google and brush up on things you learned in the past. Other than enjoying your major and networking, be kind to yourself when you struggle and give yourself credit when you succeed. Whatever you do, whether you graduate with your degree or a related one, or whether you switch gears entirely, the college experience will help you in many ways you won’t understand now, but will fully realize later.

>. do you know algorithmics (search and sorting algos, which are better for which case?)
first part was good. search and sorting are literally freshman shit though. you should be learning algorithms to a far greater depth at uni unless you went to a codemonkey mill
>- do you know pros and cons of using different data structures? tuples, vs maps/structs/dicts vs lists etc
>- can you truly code in an object oriented way? So fully utilising classes (public and private)
>- can you also code in a procedural way if necessary, what about data-oriented programming? very important to knwo how to do when doing low level programming
>- do you know insutry standard communication protocols? Every createed a SPA? E.g. using react and rest apis wirrten in Go, deployed with docker?
>- do you know pros and cons of different design patterns in programming? Have you used some of them before?
if you spent time on any of this nonsense at uni, yu went to a codemonkey mill. even worse, you pretend like this is difficult knowledge to attain. this is shit that literal highschoolers learn in their free time.
