As far as I remember, longer times are reserved for illegal content, VPN/proxy (90 days formerly permaban, although pass users can usually circumvent them at least for posting just like rangebans if they didn't eat the ban themselves) and repeated offenders (30 days up to permaban depending on your ban tally).
