I have a vision for Animal Crossing that I think would change everything we know, but make it so much better and even comfier.
Imagine, rather than being stuck to your one town, there is a whole WORLD to explore. Technically open world, but keeping with the point of view of all the Animal Crossing games, rather than a BotW camera angle.
But here's the deal: you can start out in your town, get things going there, it's the one place you're in charge of as Mayor. But there's a town entrance/exit, and from there, you can travel through the forest, and you'll find other towns all over the place, as well as landmarks, mountains, caves, lakes, and whatever else you can imagine you'll find; even other wandering characters.
All the towns have different themes and feels. They all also have different crops, items, and characters. You can strike deals with other town mayors after doing things for them (or paying), and they will assist your town in certain ways, such as trading their goods with yours, or making certain items available to sell in your town's shops, etc. You can even pay at Inn's in each town to sleep there.
There's a whole new realm of opportunity inside of this, more than I can even come up with right now. There's seriously so much you could potentially do, and I feel that emphasis on exploration combined with the extreme comfiness of Animal Crossing is an insanely great combination.
Anyone else have any ideas they got from this? Any thoughts? I'm curious what comfy places this open world Animal Crossing could go.
