because they were better than normal marines, they were gifted with unique geneseed straight from the emperor and blessed with better weapons and armor and everyone is a psyker.

They arent even useful against daemons because you get to respawn your deamons practically for free throughout the entire fucking game every time GK wipe out a daemon unit. except Deathwatch are "Anti-Xenos, the Army" and are actually pretty good against the majority of the xenos armies. they are pretty much the same PPM (in most cases) as GK, but superior in every way thanks to their SIA and their combat tactics.
a squad of 5 DW veterans is 15 points cheaper than a strike squad of 5 GK, and infinitely superior because of their ammo options and tactics. GK are way, WAY overpriced PPM for mostly 1 wound models, and with all the nerfs and changes to deepstrike, psykers and other shit, GK are the worst army in the entire game right now, and are the worst fucking army to take against daemons because the daemon player can get back whole units for fucking free when playing GK.
