In this thread we discuss current Biology research and shitpost about lab research/field work woes.
>Can I post about race here?
Please do not post about race here unless it pertains to a specific gene, or set of genes with well-described phenotype in the literature. Please limit all discussions of human genetics to practical discussions of potential uses and modifications.
>Can I post about politics, ethics, and philosophy?
This thread is focused on scientific aspects, please make your own thread.
>How do I get involved if I'm not a bio-X major?
Read papers on molecular biology techniques. If you need pdfs, use sci-hub or post here or post an anonymous email and maybe an anon can get it.
Join an iGEM competition team if you are part of a Uni that has one
Search if there is an open science lab near you. (One similar to BosLab)
Get DNA bricks for your project from https://biobricks.org/freegenes/
If all else fails (Or you have a talent for Comp Sci), you can always learn programming and contribute to open bioinformatics projects. You could even find well-paid freelance work through these channels. http://www.open-bio.org/wiki/Main_Page
Please ignore all schizos, idiots, politics/philosophy posters, /x/ posters, science-fiction shitposters, and major/field-baiters.
