Do you believe in Calculus?

I might understand it at a conceptual level, but do you really think physical space and time are continuous? Are the methods of Calculus just a convenient model to approximate the physical world? Will we ever find a better way?

Not really. But I'm a math noob so I'm interested in just seeing how far I can get into it. But yeah, academia exists as an institution to stop new insights and information getting through, peer review is a meme, even hard scientists are dishonest, myopic and incurious/disinterested in finding things out and politically/ideologically/personally motivated, and most good work gets done by antisocial cranks who turn out to be right later.

Calculus doesn't claim time and space are continuous , theories like classical em use that as an approximation for quantized systems on a much bigger scale then their quantization.

The Lagrangian deals with discrete particles, so yeah, point-characteristics are simply an asymptotically useful approximation. I don't think anyone in physics disputes this.

On the conceptual level, I do. After all, a continuous function is continuous no matter what you think of it.
On the nature side of things, I don't think there's a reason to think either way - energy might be quantized, but there's no proof of space-time quantization afaik.
