The counter argument that base reality should have infinite power is pointless, since we have no way to know whether it's finite or not finite, for all we know it could be tied to an ever expanding source of entropy.
How are we even going to find out? Literally the only link with the outside might be via quantum mechanics, and even then we don't know what layers could hide behind it.
If you instead mean a half assed simulation with hacks and shortcuts, no that doesn't seem the case. There would be inconsisencies if that were the case, while I think we can agree the universe is well designed and consistent.
