>>13751097This is soft science area, psychology. Sure it's possible but depending on your personality it will have implications. Socially you will face disadvantages as people expect others to pair. This will heavily limit your career progression, depending on your job. You will likely miss out on those social connections and develop holes in your general knowledge, and it will be more difficult for you to maintain human relationships. Common conversation topics will become difficult to you, as you do not share in the familial experiences of everyone else, requiring more effort to bridge that gap when you try to talk with or get to know other people.
On a more personal level, you will likely incur mental damages. It's been well proven that companionship and sex are beneficial both psychologically and physiologically. Stress will likely have a far more profound impact on you. You are more susceptible to cancers - which will go unnoticed longer -, depression, insomnia. You will likely not be as happy as other people. This will be especially condemning if you make it to your old age, where you will likely be orders of magnitude more lonely than your peers, who still have their families and related activities. But of course, technology has advanced a lot. By the time we are old, we will have more time for company over VR and internet activities than any prior generation dared to even dream of.
All of the above are just statistical probabilities of course. And if you're the type to be a hermit, then you might well experience a better life by yourself than you ever could trying to fake normalcy.
