No you don't. They've been able to reverse biological age by a few years in Humans already just by healing the thymus. There is plenty of low hanging fruit just like this. It isn't "all or nothing". They didn't even need genetic engineering to do it. A few cancer and diabetics treatment drugs taken together were able to heal the thymus slightly and reverse biological age in humans slightly.
The thymus is the first body part to really age. As soon as you hit puberty it starts to die by the time you're old it's just a lump of useless fat. The thymus helps to control autoimmune responses. As it dies your body begins to constantly attack itself leading to lots of damaged cells and constant inflammation all over your body.
