You would think the coronavirus was on the radar of everyone working in healthcare way before the public knew about it.
It's pretty bad when those with inside information get scooped by the ignorant masses.
My guess is they were just overconfident. They thought it would be like SARS.
The circle-jerk phrase in the news at that time was "contact tracing".
They acted like that was a silver bullet.
