If you can imagine the finished piece correctly and clearly in your mind, then the medium doesn't matter, you don't need any mechanical drawing skill with pencils since as long as you're patient you'll be able to create it, with a mouse, using bezier curves, in pixel art, through a mosaic, by photobashing, doesn't matter, mechanical skill only affects your speed, but if you can't imagine a pleasant curve or an appealing shape, it won't help you draw them. The result is the only thing that matters.
