>>5538226Take this with a grain of salt, but I'll try t point out areas to improve to the best of my ability.
I think you need more hard edges anon everything's too airbrushy. Use hard edges to define the top part of the nostril where it meets the cheek a bit more to make the nose really pop up. Do it also on the top lips , and the jaw which should be sharply defined from its cast shadow on the neck. Also mind the cast shadows of the pipe on the shoulders as it seems to be floating without it. Try to introduce some skin highlights with hard edges as well, especially on the collar bone and nose bridge. I also noticed you placed a secondary bluish light on the brow ridge? Is it from the eyeballs? I don't think light from the eye balls will reach the brow ridge, at most, only the sides of the eye lids and at the sunken part where the nose meets the eye socket.
In terms of anatomy, make sure that the tendons that are apparent at the front of the neck connects from the collarbone to the back of the ear, not just somewhere below the jaw.
I think you have great colors overall, just add more of the primary light source on the right cheek as there is some kind of reddish, dark yellowish mix in there, which I'm not sure if you're aiming for that?
For the background I think try to lose the hard edge saturated color and opt for a gradient with darks at the top of the portrait as I think that contrast will help the face pop out more. You can add the cyan rim light if you want more fun in it.
I think if you can get the right hard edge, soft edge distinction in the planes of the face, you can have a truly great illustration. Keep it up anon!
