Great lineart gets ruined with awful colouring. Terrible lineart turns into appealing picture with good colouring. Explain this shit. What does matter then?

Values are literally 50% of workijg in color. The other half is split 25% saturation and 25% hue.

If you don't know that about color you are legitimately NGMI.

The final product matters

it can, but it has nothing to do with colors and everything to do with tone and edges you create via tonal shifts.

Coloring is purely irrelevant, tone is the only thing that matters in rendering.

I think the offset problem here is that it’s a floating character. In a scene with purpley lighting it would look quite nice but because it’s just a white background it just looks like the character has ice cold purple dead skin
