Because every 10 years the style changes from a reaction to the previous. 60s-70s had Hanna-Barbera rip offs, 80s had cutesy designs and even 80s realistic anime influences(See GI Joe and the diaclone/transformers) the Early 90s was a return to looney tunes Inspired media while the mid to late 90s to the 2000s were angular UPA styled works(Except EdEddnEddy) Then you had late 2000s cartoons looking like Fosters home for imaginary friends, Johnny Test and gym partner monkey, there was a dead zone in the late 2000s early 2010s where tv art styles both stagnated and went all over the place further in Adventure time and regulat show doing more scribbly and organic shapes, not angular sharp stuff like 10 years ago. And now, 10 years later, designs are more organic with your Craig of the creeks and whatever. I predict in 2030 there will be a new art style for western tv animation thats a reaction to the current tv art style, and it may even start earlier in 2026 or even 3 years
Also the fact that mods/jannies have let this thread go for 24 hours, where it’s talking about race relations more that ART AND CRITIQUE, shows that there needs to be some refocus across this Chinese basket weaving forum
