How do you measure proportions of model when working from a photo?

Thing is my proportions always come out to small and makes the figure look too small and weird.

Lokking at a photo is different from real life.

I'd be more interested with real life models vs photos. With a photo, if you want it super accurate, just grab a ruler and measure from a bunch of points. I don't feel that can be exactly done with real life.

What you can try is just drawing rough shapes to get everything to look right they you will get good at just seeing it. Another thing you can do is quick sketches not worring about details and just doing bodys over and over again times

No, I just draw. If you can’t look at your drawing and say “that’s wrong”, then you need to practice memorising proportions. Some tips I use. The interior corners of the eyes line up somewhere with the nostrils depressing on race. With white people it’s often a vertical line. When someone’s arms rest to their sides, their elbow, the bottom of their rib cage and their belly button come pretty close to lining up. Then there’s stuff like head lengths that are generally helpful to memorise.
