I just built my site from the ground up, but I use it more for writing than anything else. It's easier than you'd imagine, and you literally just pay server costs, which will be low unless you're serving a LOT of data every month.

There is this spot I hang out at work and they recently demolished and filled the lake hole with dirt. Sometimes I fucking hate humanity and wish Georgia guidestones rules come to pass. Now all the birds and iguanas have no home.

When I scroll down various artstations and all I see are highly rendered portrait after highly rendered portrait, I just find it so uninspiring. Is this really what the end game is for some artists? Spend countless hours and years just to create such boring art with no real story and the same recycled composition again and again?

I hate to get into the whole "is talent real" debate but honestly, to me I feel like there is some truth to the existence of talent. Except, it's not in the technical side of art; I believe literally anyone can learn the techniques to make good looking art and apply them. But clearly there is some other quality, that a person either has or doesn't, that drives them to make art that is interesting. And so many technically skilled artists I have seen just do not have it.

It’s funny how ic focuses in minuscule things like talent or IQ, while totally ignoring actual problems which prevent learning art, like brain trauma they got from multitasking and instant gratification, which leads to lack of focus and discipline. No wonder they can’t get into Fun with the pencil, it was released before color television was a thing, can it really compete with internet in fun department? Some common, recurring thoughts:
1. I'm inspired by so much, but nothing can get me to actually put a line on paper.
2. There's not much of a reason to draw when just about everything has already been done before and way better than what I'm capable of.
3. I'm worried that my work will never be original.
4. I can't draw more than five minutes before giving up and moving on to something else.
5. Back between 2015-17, I could actually sit down and study, but now I can't muster the strength to do basic shapes or doodles.
6. I can't shake off all the negative thoughts I'm flooded with even before I try to draw. It's like my brain is conditioned for failure.
7. All my personal work looks the same.
8. I feel like I'm too old for this.
9. I've literally spent more time feeling bad about art than actually trying to improve.
10. If it were really meant to be, I would have made it by now.
I probably left some stuff out, but this sums it up pretty well. I'm waiting for a break in this never ending cycle.

I wish I didn't have chronic pain and depression daily. It's so hard to get out of bed and do things when the first thing you note in the day is just pain and fatigue. I've managed to get into the habit of at least drawing an hour a day, now sometimes two, going from no drawing at all, but it's so hard to keep up. I hate this. I hate daily life. I hate the pain. I hate spending full days in bed when it gets especially rough, when the sound of people or the outside light makes me cower in my bed even more. I wish I was normal.

I got interested because the blonde dude is my perfect type, so I'd be willing to go along with just about any level of shitty plot, and I was never as picky about art as most of /ic/. But holy shit that ear placement, it's driving me absolutely crazy. Then there was Sana who did an inverted penis in his goblin cave animation. Then some artists who are good with their anatomy but have a severe case of sameface. It's just distracting, and getting in the way of me enjoying the pieces for what they are.

When does it get fun?
It's not gratifying to produce bad drawings, I find studying nothing more than a tedious necessity.
I draw because I have ideas, but I cant derive any enjoyment from drawing if I can't properly execute these ideas.

I accept the fact that the reason I still browse this site/board is because I have no real accomplishments and have nobody in my life who cares about me in general.

I keep browsing this place instead of drawing. I wish I stopped. I've tried blocking this site but there's always another distraction such as YouTube if I don't browse 4chan.

I think I might finally be reaching the level where I can produce something other people might take genuine interest in, but looking around the internet I'm worried that we may have reached the point where the world is saturated with good content already. Search for "zentangles" on youtube. You'll find countless actual boomers who have taken up drawing these patterns in their retirement with excellent line control. I can't seem to care about my family, or anyone. I don't connect at any level. I hate it, I only see them as providers/meal-tickets, regardless of how "caring" they act towards me.

But at the same time, they follow a cultish religion and so does everyone else in the country. Exasperated by Ramadan.
If I'm found as an apostate, I would at best be disowned and homeless and worst killed.

I lost my spark. I was doing pretty good with practicing and starting to understand. But then finals happened and i got occupied for 3 weeks. Somewhere in between i realized i didn't want to make art as a career anymore, and now i don't have the drive to draw anything anymore. No ideas, no passion, no motivation. I'm taking this as a sign that it's time to give up. Only issue is drawing was the only skill i put time into since i was little that i don't know what else to do anymore. I have no other skills.
