I see a mixture of simple round brushes with varying opacity and edge hardness. You don't need a "watercolor" brush for this, you just need to gain confidence with basic brushes, and learn how they work and what their entire range of variables is.
I've been using tablets and a 34HD cintiq for years, I've only ever downloaded on brush, a pencil brush, the rest I make as needed, and save my favorites.
(The pencil brush I use is "Pencil_Brush_by_KoiFishSushi", I've had it forever, there might even be better ones out, but I'm comfortable and familiar with this one.)
90% of the time I use a plain old round brush, and vary the opacity, repeat, and edge hardness. Sometimes I get exotic - I wanted good lightning bolts for a project, so I went outside and dug up a bunch of roots in the yard, washed them off, and threw them on the scanner. I used them to create lightning bolt brushes, that ended up looking pretty cool. If I want a texture like cloth or noise, I scan something or use a texture file and build a brush - that's all the guys who sell brushes do.
