Loosen up your figures, start doing more quick sketches/gesture drawings. Believe it or not understanding gesture will probably be one of the most difficult parts to learn and understand because it is so abstract but the sooner you learn how to convey form from the abstract while keeping its fluidity the better you'll be.

I'm a NEET, I don't have to worry about my reputation or money. I picked art because I got bored of everything else and I'm halfway decent at it. I'll probably spend years of my life getting better at it but I'll never delude myself into thinking it's anything but a fun hobby.

People here are too hung up on trying to "make it" and make art their career.

There are no "layers", I work with pencils and markers and scan the final drawing into my laptop. I do all my construction in pencil, draw over the final lines in marker and then adjust the white/black levels in paint.net so that it looks cleaner.

Why would I lie? My drawings are shit, I'm not impressing anyone by lying.

A: Go on figure drawing sites like quickposes.com and do pose studies. 30s gestures, and some 5 minute figures where you try to get the forms of the figures down.

B: Read Anatomy for Sculptors by Zarins while drawing figures that you design on your own with your own poses, from fantasy. Keep referencing the anatomy book, it's your bible.

C: Copy superior artists. Do copies of their figures. Look at the drawings and copy. You don't pass this off as your own work, you just copy for practice.

Rotate ABCABCABC...

Also stop arguing with people, it reflects badly on you.

Push yourself out of your comfort zone and try harder.
If its a commission or request with a short deadline then i can understand why you have to draw at a certain percentage.
Take your time and understand better constructions and perspective.
Look at how the great one do their constructions with bodies and face.
