Right now Netflix and other streaming services are going to Japan with sacks full of money in exchange for exclusive content, the worry is that they will force censorship both in the Jap domestic market releases and in the US one as to not damage the brand, like how Square made some changes to their games both in the US and Japan releases on the advice of consultants in the US.
