>>99898285Truth is I work with kids and was actually recommended this show by a 4th grader, probably one of the cooler 4th graders too. He likes memes and 80's music and videogames including retro videogames and d&d. Anyways his pitch was "Have you watched Craig of the Creek? It basically perfectly represents what its like to be a kid." Which is why I loved Clarence. So I watched every episode of Craig in one day. I loved it. Feels like Clarence but the characters are a lot more down to earth and likable.
From everything I've learned, kids are tired of action cartoons and silly cartoons. They've grown up with so many shows that do the whole Bionicle/Ninjago/Power Rangers thing... you know... a group of heroes each with their own color and element and power have to work together to fight some evil mystical thing. Everything is about destiny, etc. And Teen Titans Go/Gumball have basically killed silly, wacky humor. Now kids just want to see what its like to be a kid. Slice of life is a nice change of pace after all that.
Also this is just my personal belief but since Trump was elected, I feel like kids don't have as much interest in heroes when they've learned that in real life, villains usually win.
