there is nothing wrong about that. The problem with mutants is that from House of M on (or even from Morrison's destruction of Genosha), the genocides did succeed.
Mutants should fight for their survival, and prevent stuff like M Day or the Terrigen Mist global poisoning from happening.

Struggling, fighting for your survival, but succeeding, is ok, and you can create new interesting stories about that.
That would already be a big change from the genocide after genocide mutants have been facing. The last decade was post apocalyptic for mutants.

-Make them fight evil mutants, give it a "we stop evil mutants, so the Avenger's won't have to, we take care of mutant issues, because we as mutants needs to avoid all bad press to not give ammunition to bigots" angle

-make them fight evil biologists interested in mutants (like half of x-men villains are evil biologists)

-make them fight people who want to kill all mutants sometimes

-make them fight government agencies who want to use mutants as military weapons

they don't need to be on the brink of extinction always

All that's been done and been done better in the past. The House of X is just boring as shit because theres no fresh ideas. That's one of the reasons it's been constant genocide with the X Men since the mid-90s.

Time travel, alt-realities, and genocide are the only X storylines that work. The Avengers are major players now so you can't write political stories that dont involve them.

The X Men aren't isolated anymore. No one in Marvel is isolated anymore.

But Soule's team is one of the best X teams I have seen in a long time. Why scrap it for this shit. I mean, I like Havok and Beast, but they have absolutely no dynamic with the rest of the team. The only interesting dynamic I see with this team is Colossus and Warpath cause Warpath is quick to act and Colossus likes caution.

Havok, Colossus and Dazzler already were part of the same team of Uncanny X-Men during Claremont's run. They have some dynamic together.

The other two are the strangers in that team.
