Honestly overexaggerated shit by contrarians.
Stan's a blowhard and an egotist but he didn't do anything outside of industry norms. This isn't Finger/Kane, Stan's always credited Kirby and Ditko for their work, even if he always put the focus on himself.
I don't get why /co/ despises him for doing what ever other comic book exec has ever done.
Let's be real, Ditko did nothing of value aside from Strange and Spidey (and some Charlsteon B-listers). Kirby was brilliant at designs but 60s Marvel, the period that created the MU, was mostly Stan.
He wrote hundreds of comics, and his runs (compared to his peers, not compared to current runs) were all average or better.
Stan's kind of shady at times and definitely exaggerates but he was the glue that held early Marvel together and he was at least partly responsible for 70% of Marvel's A-listers.
But no he had a spat with Kirby fifty years ago and now nothing else matters. Idiotic.
