Never read any Moon Knight but from what I could gather he sounds like a pretty intriguing with the whole split personalities and insane asylum deal.

what are his best stories?

That depends, as some of his best stories come from Doug Moench, but the best modern version of Moon Knight is probably Ellis. Regardless, aside from Bendis, Moon Knight hasn't really had a truly terrible run. Thus, I suggest you eventually read at lead from Moench until Ellis, then decide if you like Lemire/Bemis.

Huston's first arc is really good and is what brought me back to comics. I always enjoy a good writer on a C-lister. Gives them room to spread their wings and not be confined like they would on a top billing.

Terry Kavanagh could get pretty bad.

i started reading moon knight in the late 2000s. with the huston guy. i haven't really seen any MK comics i didn't like since then but i haven't looked that hard. for sure the ones that people have storytimed here on /co/ were good.

I'm a cartoon guy and not much of a comic guy, but I really like Max Bemis as a musician and have considered checking this comic out since he tweets about how happy he is to have been working on it like constantly.

I found that, while not as good as the runs preceding it, Max Bemis's run on Moon Knight is pretty good, aside from the occasional hiccup.
