It's funny how at the end of the episode it turns out he gets the job, like that's the end of their problems. But they already established that they were out of food. He's not going to get a paycheck for 2 or 3 weeks depending on when in the pay cycle he comes on. They're hard up for food until then, and they're double fucked if rent comes due before that first paycheck

The professor evaluations. There forms that professors give out to let their students evaluate them. Coordinating that entire affair with all the departments is a goddamn nightmare but at least it's a job I can do mostly from home and also while listening to music/browing 4chan. As long as you stay a bare minimum of busy thoughout my day the job is a cakewalk. Job is SUPER tedious though.

I made the same mistake, never jump ship unless you're guaranteed a job. Telling HR you quit your stable job with no backup because you got tired of it isn't a good look.

It seems like common knowledge that automation will replace many jobs, why then is there a desire to increase the population in countries with migrants if we are set to have even more trouble finding work in the future. My only guess the the gods and clods theory that we bring people in to do the majority of really shit jobs at low cost.

If I had to guess, the leaders of those countries assume those migrants will be grateful towards them for letting them in and vote for them once they become citizens, keeping their party in power.
