I hate when pieces of moving objects are reused in a few consecutive frames. It looks jerky and not fluid

beyond that he really pushed himself with some of those dynamic shots and rotations, so kudos. Maybe leading a team he could make something complete

There were some parts of the short that were really floaty and didn't quite have the right weight to it, but for a solo passion project, Otaking did a damn fine job. The /m/an in him definitely showed in this short film.

TIE fighters fucking amazes me with every watch. Completely and utterly shits on flat, boring western tv animation, and even the big movies. Production values are spread thin. Veteran artists don't work for peanuts and new artists shortchange themselves out of fear of not getting enough work. Not to mention overseas studios are swimming in some much work, they have to charge more than they did in the 90s to self regulate.

The beefsquanch episode where they had fan animated snippets fill the episode, some dude was animating some of the theme but barley had a bit done by the time the deadline came, I can't remember if he got it in the episode anyway though. IIRC it was disney-esque

Industry leaders making big changes affects the rest of the industry. Disney had a big hand in cultivating 2d talent, when they moved on other people in the industry decided that they need to move on to methods that are easier to train, cheaper, and faster (ie Flash).

If you find someone else to invest millions/billions into good 2d animation and you'll see a revival of the genre.
