I don't think the fans should be the ones in control of what direction the story progresses or indeed any say in the story.
This sounds contrary to the next statement:
If your fans don't like what you're doing, you probably shouldn't blame them for disliking it if you go nowhere with the story. The long and short of it is:
The fans shouldn't write the story, the writers should. And if they don't or won't progress it, they're responsible for any loss in viewership. Not the fans. >>99561047
