In my opinion, MLP was a good show. The keyword there is was. It was something good and interesting for little girls, and taught them good morals, when most shit aimed at that audience then didn't get much deeper than who was wearing the prettiest dress to the princess gathering. The characters are fun and interesting, and their drastically different personalities make scenarios that're fun to watch unfold. But then the bronies came.
This wasn't just a matter of them making the fanbase annoying, oh no no no. It began leaking into the show itself. There are entire episodes that just happen to be one big brony shoutout. I get it, Hasbro notices there are adults with disposable income in a huge circlejerk over their show, it'd be bad business not to capitalize on that, but when you're putting anime body pillow references in your show meant for kids, it's probably time to take a step back and reconsider your choices.
Perhaps it's just gone on too long. For reference, when the current version of MLP came out, I was part of the target audience, but now I'm old enough to legally post here. Here's hoping it doesn't become the next Fairly Odd Parents.
