>>99537891I think the difference is Rolfe likes filmmaking, and enjoys the cheaper stuff like monster movies.
Walker likes the end result, comedies, and artistic subversive things as well as interfacing with actors, but the actual filming and the effects are only a means to the end.
So Rolfe improves technique because technique is what he likes about it, and once he reached where he likes things which is the cheesy B movie effects he stuck there. Walker almost wants to jump straight to the end result, and misses the nuance and skill curve of actually making the thing in the rush towards the end goal of a talking piece with funny, sometimes clever dialogue mixed with filler and little else.
Rolfe intentionally makes Plan 9 From Outer Space, Walker tries and fails to make Arsenic And Old Lace.
