I mean their biggest series right now is Saga and it's pretty much impossible to adapt all the shit in there. They also did Prophet not too long ago and that isn't adaptable to TV/Movies either.

Nah I mean it. I'm a huge fan of Crumb and his work but the comics don't really hold up as a whole imo. The art is still really nice to look at and the absurdism is still great though.

It's less that they are hacks and more that getting a tv/movie deal is the only way they can afford to continue to do comics.

Dark Horse is half movie producer, half comics company, and losing licenses at an alarming rate. Valiant is owned by a Chinese company that only wants it for the IP to make movies with The Rock. Image is a collection of creators putting properties out in hopes of a paycheck from a Hollywood company so they can afford to keep making comics. And once they’re successful enough at that, they turn into mini-production companies that make deals with the Amazons and the Netflixes of the world. (I can’t blame them for that. That’s the power of creator ownership. But please note the payday disparity between Netflix and the Direct Market.)

Yeah it really sucks that just making comics isn't that viable anymore. I think I was reading about the people who did Luther Strode which was a somewhat successful comic, and they said they barely made any money off of it despite doing 3 different series.
