American cartoons will die faster than comics cause nobody in media points out how things have gone wrong. Literally nobody. You actually rarely see media criticizing them. The video game industry gets a lot of criticisms no matter how shitty it is, what ideology it is. Its fucking a mess and things look healthy, but still its good, because it activates the industry in itself and urges people to see the outside of their small world. Apparently, recently, the comics industry has partly joined it even though that "comics gate" looks shady, old, and myopic.
The cartoon industry, however, gets none of those kinds of criticisms. Nobody, no fucking body says anything bad about American cartoons in media. Now that they outsource all animation parts to South Korea, they cant even make any actual animation part that goes on screen. Still no fucking one in media even seriously concerns bout it.
It means the industry has turned into a total Tumblrinas/niche fans sanctuary/safe space/circle jerk. No media/journos even can criticize them because they are part of the circle and scared of getting criticized by their ilk.
I mean, aside from popular franchises on Tumblr/reddit/SNS and those produced by greedy big companies, none of new users/outsiders watches it anymore and will. Only very few niche fans do and will. Shit like these idolizations without the hard reality is a prime example showing how insular naive and ignorant the industry/community has been. They dont know anything other than themselves anymore and want to.
