>>99231926im just gonna copy paste something i said last thread and add on something about act 2
>60k>act 1 is 8 dollars>with gaben's cut they make 5.60 dollars per sale>assuming every single person who owned the game paid full price (i'm not gonna bother figuring out how many people got it free from back rewards so fuck it) they made 336,000 dollars from act 1>TOG stole the kickstarter money so technically all of the people who backed the kickstarter and got the game didn't actually earn WP any money, which means act 1 made much less than 336,000 dollarsI have no idea how much money they get from humble bundle sales, but before the bundle they made less than $336,000 from act 1.
Okay so for episodic games, the first episode ALWAYS sells the most. Before the bundle it was ~60k sales for act 1, and since most of a game's sales are in the first few weeks, we can assume that the lifetime sales would not have been much higher than ~60k without the humble bundle help. Also steamspy isn't 100% accurate because it does not get data from private steam profiles, so it's actually probably a little bit higher than 60k, but I really fucking doubt it's more than 100k.
So basically we're looking at less than 100k sales for act 2 over it's lifetime, EXCLUDING humble bundle shenanigans. Let's say it's ~80k sales over it's lifetime before the humble bundle, and all of these sales are at full price. $5.60 per sale, $448000 monies made before humble bundle. Again I have no idea how the bundle money is split up so I can't really say how much they'd make from it.
HOWEVER we only have sales data from steam. I don't know if gog sells hiveswap, and the humble bundle store itself (humble has a regular store where you can buy games just like steam, separate from the actual bundle) I have no idea if it just gives steam keys or what, so maybe the humble store sales are included in steam spy? fuck post too long gonna continue in next post
