For those talking about pacing and plot speed, I think it's important to remember the recent discoveries of filenames and writer's thoughts. Even without six episodes cuts, they don't know how to write for netflix. In their minds, this series was three seasons of 26, like Avatar. They're still writing like a tv show.
SEASON ONE is our current s1+2. It established all the important shit: characters' personalities, Keith's galra blood, the BoM, Voltron's main weapons, Allura deleting Alfor's AI and moving on from losing her planet, striking Zarkon at the end and Shiro disappearing.
SEASON TWO is our current s3 to 6. Shiro was supposed to be gone this whole season (literally gone, not just with the rebels like Sven) to make it about forming the new team, but let's skip that. This season adds the other half of the important shit and gets the plot in motion: Allura as pilot, her alchemy to power up the lions, flashbacks with explanations, the coalition and the rebels, death of Zarkon and Lotor's coming up as a villain plus his keikaku.
I'm gonna guess season 6 will finish the Kuron stuff and Lotor's will take his true spot as bad boss so SEASON THREE (aka 7-10 if we continue the same schelude) is the big war explosion. (This season would've been Shiro's return, and Keith would be comfy in Black so he would probably just help, maybe with Sam in Earth, which they can still do).
If Dreamworks doesn't start to slowin up the releases for money, we should be done with the series next year. So if you wanna recommend someone to wait to watch it in one go, I won't blame you. It makes more sense when seen all together. (Don't take me wrong the pacing still sucks but this way helps a little.)
