I'd give her a hug. She looks sad
She looks like she's nearing her 30s. 5 years ago 30 seemed a lifetime away. Then again 5 years ago she hadn't had the kids. 2 of them. The oldest will be starting kindergarten soon. Still hasn't lost the weight from the last one and he's almost 1 now. She feels the ugly fat from the pregnancy every time she moves her arms. A reminder that high school ended ten years ago. She was never the prettiest girl but her man loved her and she loved him. Or at least he had loved her once. since the second child he had hardly touched her and he was spending more and more time at work. With every day the gap between them grows. She has no skills, no degree. She knows she is aging, knows she has to try and cling to her man but she grows ever more suspicious that he is cheating. She's too afraid of the answer to ever ask. So she distracts herself. Cosplay is a term she has heard. She's seen the cute pics on facebook, seen the young girls lavished with attention when they dress as popular characters. So she picks something she knows. She saw Teen Titans a few times back when it was new and she remembers Raven. Her kid even watches the new Titans show. So she shops for a while, has fun finding the right boots, a proper belt. The outfit is decent if cheap. She's just doing it for fun though. At least she tells herself that. Part of her hopes that some one will notice, someone will see her like her man used to, see some glimmer of beauty within her. She attends a local con and... is completely passed by. The hours pass and she gets little notice. Few people even take the time to comment on her outfit. She sees younger, prettier girls getting their pics taken with many, many guests. You can see it in her eyes, the lost hope, the utter sadness. The man who took this picture was the first and last of the day to pay her any special attention. She had even practiced this special pose for when someone wanted a picture.
