Oh and I almost forgot: Henrietta is a legit goth too.>>98474698
not really though. The closest thing would be Twiggy Ramirez but even he has no strong connection with the goth scene. He started out as a thrasher, believe it or not, and it never grew into an actual fashion style. What it really is, is a dumb tumblr cosplay meme based on threads like this.>>98474823
Goths are new romantics and post-punks with spookier, more theatrical tastes. You may stretch the definition to encompass deathrock and SOME rivetheads because there's always been a degree of overlap between the post-punk scene and the industrial scene.
Emos are pop punk and post-hardcore kids who think that being whiny is cool. They like pink highlights and cartoonish stuff. Their only connection with the goth subculture is that they gravitate towards Tim Burton movies and Jhonen Vasquez cartoons.
kinderwhore was a short-lived mid-90s trend connected to grunge.
mallgoth is a late 90s/early 2000s amorphous blob of every edgy fashion trend being lumped together and marketed at teenagers by Hot Topic. Again, weird fixation with Jhonen Vasquez and Tim Burton.
Then there's the whole "visual kei" thing and how westerners awkwardly attempted to get into that; it's also a big goop of many trends (including japanese goth rock) that were mashed together in the 90s to optimize marketability towards impressionable chuuni anime fans.
Come to think of it, it's funny how the most prominent examples of faux-goth crowds are more inspired by cartoon depictions of goths than by the goth subculture itself.
